Rambod Amigh is a Consulting Engineer and Director of Engineering Geology Ltd. He completed his engineering geological degrees at Azad University and worked for seven years for Soil Engineering Services in Iran on geological and geotechnical investigations, which were mainly related to water supply and water storage dam projects. In 1997 he moved to New Zealand and a year later he joined Engineering Design Consultants for three years as a Field and Design Engineer. Rambod then joined Engineering Geology Ltd in 2002 for a further six years and carried out a wide variety of geotechnical engineering studies for building foundations, land stability, subdivisions and water storage reservoir and tailings dam in New Zealand. He then moved to Australia in 2008 to work with international multi-discipline engineering consultants, including Aurecon and WorleyParsons, for five years as a Senior Engineering Geologist and Lead Geotechnical Engineer. During this time, Rambod worked on large, mega projects mainly related to mining and tailings storage facilities which were mainly based in Australia and Mongolia. In 2013 he rejoined Engineering Geology Ltd as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer and a year later he was promoted to a Director position.
Rambod has over 20 years professional experience in geotechnical investigation, design and construction monitoring and certification for domestic, commercial, industrial developments including foundations, retaining walls, slope and embankment stability, earthworks and remedial stabilisation work and design and construction monitoring and certification for water storage embankment dams and tailings storage facilities and dam safety engineering.
Rambod specialises in site investigation, design and construction of water storage and tailings storage facilities and ash ponds. Rambod has undertaken studies from the initiation stage, site selection and feasibility study, through to detailed design and licencing of dams for commercial, power station, coal seam gas and mining projects. He has significant experience in the project management and construction supervision, commissioning and operation of dam projects both nationally and internationally, mainly in Australia, New Zealand, Mongolia and Iran.
